SEED Programs
Land-Based Learning at SEED
SEED hosts educational programs and gatherings rooted in ecological practice, land stewardship, and community-based living.
These programs take place on the SEED property in Costa Rica and are open to participants who are interested in learning through direct engagement with land, systems, and real-world contexts.
SEED Programs are not residential offerings and do not imply access to land ownership or long-term living at SEED.
About the Setting
Programs take place within an active, working landscape that includes forest systems, agricultural areas, shared infrastructure, and residential zones.
Participants should understand that SEED is not an event venue or retreat center. Programs occur within a functioning land-based environment where daily life, stewardship, and ongoing use continue alongside educational activity.
This context is part of the learning.
Types of Programs
SEED Programs may include:
Land stewardship and ecological practice
Food systems, agriculture, and regeneration
Community-scale infrastructure and systems
Applied sustainability and long-term land use
Collaborative learning and exchange
Programs vary in format, duration, and level of participation. Some are facilitated by SEED, while others are hosted in collaboration with external educators whose work aligns with SEED’s purpose.
Who These Programs Are For
SEED Programs are intended for people who:
Are interested in land-based learning grounded in real use
Are comfortable with rural conditions and outdoor environments
Value practical engagement over curated experiences
Understand that learning happens within shared space and structure
These programs are not designed as leisure experiences and are not suitable for those seeking tourism, wellness retreats, or passive participation.
Relationship to SEED as a Community
Participation in a SEED Program does not imply residency, land access, or preferential consideration for living at SEED.
Residential life at SEED is governed through a separate process focused on long-term alignment, land stewardship, and shared responsibility.
Programs and residential life are intentionally distinct.
